Featuring products in lawn & garden, pet, feed, hardware, livestock, seed, animal health and clothing; The Country Store serves farmers, homeowners, businesses, families and communities in Washington State & Stevensville, MT. Candidates should be flexible and detail oriented with a great attitude while ensuring excellent customer service at all times.

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude. This person will be able to recognize what needs be done and figure out ways to do them effectively and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and interact with customers
  • Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
  • Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for customers’ needs
  • Answer customers questions about merchandise and assist customers with purchase decisions
  • Accurately complete sales using the POS system according to established procedures
  • Process returns and exchanges
  • Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale
  • Stock and rotate product
  • Assist in keeping the store and surrounding area clean
  • Help customers with loading and unloading products
  • Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills
  • Exhibit an ability to get along with others
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and internet browsers
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently
  • Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Commitment to excellence & high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service
  • Experience working in a retail setting
  • Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, horse/equine, hardware, fencing, lawn & garden supplies, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, or wild bird supplies.

SCHEDULE

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position (schedule may vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$15.00 – $18.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
